Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking to enhance your overall health, our experienced Exercise Physiologists work with you to create a personalised plan that fits your lifestyle and goals.
Personalised Guidance Every Step of the Way
Exercise physiology is aimed at either improving or maintaining your health using a set of customised exercises based upon scientifically taken measurements, readings and recommendations. Exercise Physiologists are qualified in their field and have the knowledge, skills, and experience to develop and deliver a safe, individualised exercise plan.
When you begin your journey, you’ll start with one-on-one sessions that help you feel comfortable and confident as you learn about your tailored exercise plan. Once you’re ready, you can transition to our small group sessions (1:6 ratio) that provide a supportive environment for ongoing growth.
What’s a physical therapist’s favourite type of band?
A resistance band, of course! They love a good stretch.
Unlock Your Potential, No Matter Your Age
Our Exercise Physiology sessions are great for various age groups as you begin on an individual program tailored to your unique goals and desires. For teenagers looking to work on their fitness, strength and conditioning, coordination, and balance, then Exercise Physiology would be a great place to start. Elderly people can benefit by improving their gait, balance, coordination, and muscle strength, giving them confidence to participate more fully in social activities.
Anyone who has suffered a work related or a sports injury will also greatly benefit! Your exercise plan is designed to help you prevent the recurrence of your injury and hasten your return to work, school, or participation in your favourite sport, as quickly and as safely as possible. Are you ready to take that first step toward a healthier, stronger you?!

What is Exercise Physiology?
Exercise Physiology focuses on using tailored exercise programs to improve health, fitness, and overall wellbeing. It addresses various conditions and helps individuals towards achieving their fitness goals. It is a great starting point for those who may be nervous to get started in a conventional gym, or when recovering from an injury/accident.
Who can benefit from Exercise Physiology?
Everyone can benefit from Exercise Physiology, including those recovering from injuries, individuals with chronic conditions, teenagers looking to enhance their athletic performance, and older adults aiming to improve strength and balance.
What is the difference between Exercise Physiology and Physiotherapy?
While both focus on improving health and wellbeing, Exercise Physiology primarily focuses on creating personalised exercise programs to enhance fitness and prevent injuries. Physiotherapy on the other hand, often addresses rehabilitation from injury or surgery, using hands-on techniques and modalities to alleviate pain and restore function. At Capability Physio, both services complement each other to support your overall health journey.
How is the exercise plan tailored to my needs?
Your exercise physiologist will consider your current health status, fitness level, and personal goals to develop a safe and effective exercise program designed specifically for you.
Can I start with one-on-one sessions?
Absolutely! We always start you with one-on-one sessions to help you feel comfortable and confident before moving into small group classes.
What if I’m new to exercise or unsure about going to the gym?
Our Exercise Physiology services are a great first step! We’ll guide you through the exercises in a supportive environment, ensuring you feel empowered as you progress.
How do group sessions work?
Once you reach a level of competency, you can join our small group sessions (1:6 ratio) where an Exercise Physiologist provides personalised attention while you enjoy your session in a collaborative atmosphere.
Will my progress be monitored?
Yes! Your exercise physiologist will regularly assess your progress and make adjustments to your plan to optimise your health and ensure you stay on track to meet your goals. If you feel unsure about any of your movements or exercises as you’re performing them, your physiologist will be right there to guide you.
